IFÁ SAYS: Envisioning Your Purpose Is the First Step Toward Achieving It
The wisdom of Odu Ifá Ogunda Obara: learn why envisioning your purpose is the first step to manifesting blessings, aligning Ori, and transforming destiny through mind, spirit, and neuroscience-backed visualization.
Within the sacred Odu Ifá Ogunda Obara, Orunmila enlightened his devotee about the foundational step required to manifest one’s desires into reality. He taught that, “For anyone to receive the blessings of existence, they must first envision it.”
Ifá wants us to understand that the mind is the greatest spiritual and personal asset we possess. When we use our mind consciously and intentionally, we gain the power to shape our reality and prepare ourselves to receive the blessings that Ori has revealed through Ifá divination.
When we clearly envision our purpose, it helps the brain understand our true desires. In return, the universe and our Ori begin to align with those intentions—especially when visualization is practiced consistently. This is why the mind and brain are central in Ori work (Ori Bibo).
Modern neuroscience supports this ancient wisdom. Studies show that when we imagine an action, the brain’s neural pathways and motor cortex activate as though the action is physically happening. This strengthens the mental and physical ability to achieve it in real life. In simple terms, the brain often responds to vivid imagination as if it is already real. This aligns with the wisdom of Odu Idi Otura which teaches: “Whatever the eyes see, it shall become.” When we envision our destiny, the brain begins working to turn it into reality.
Interestingly, Ogunda Obara is also my personal Odu for the year 2025, and I am deeply grateful for the lessons it has revealed. Through visualization and faith, I witnessed both spiritual and material blessings manifest beautifully this year.
